task 1
First book that I encountered in original language (don't have to guess it was English ;)) was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. I'm not Harry's fan, but in High School I had to limit myself to things that I could borrow from frinds. It was very interesting (the fact of reading a book in English), and would be much harder if I didn't be familiar with the transalted version. Be it a book for children, the language for a non-native speaker is not so easy, but after like 1/3 of a book I stopped checking EVERY word I didn't know, but limited myself to those that either were significant for understanding or I could't get any idea what could they mean from the context or just were interesting. I really enjoyed it (the reading, not the HP's story) and it helped me much in terms of reading in English.
